Yellow, Red, Aqua Experiment

Another canvas. This time I thought I'd play around with some wood block printing and black Sharpies. Not finished yet, but it's coming along. Love this crazy color combo - reminds me of children's book graphics from the 50's.

Finished Canvas - Step by Step

I finished another 16x20 canvas today.

Pink Circles and Chocolate

Finished up this painting on 16x20 canvas last night. I worked on 3 different ones at the same time. I hate waiting for the paint to dry, so I set it aside and start working on a different one, then just rotate between them while different layers dry. Anyway, this one I actually finished.
The other two are in progress.

I have no idea where the pink circles came from - so don't ask! I just knew I wanted to do something abstract with shapes. I really like the colors in this one. I had to mix the dark brown background color since I didn't have a nice brown, and I really like the way it came out. I know it's hard to tell from the crappy picture, but it's a rich warm brown - deep and chocolatey looking. It's mixed from Raw Siena, Raw Umber, Acra Crimson, and Phtalocyanine Blue, with a little shot of Acra Red Orange and a bit of Ivory Black. (All Liquitex acrylics)

The lighter side of the background was painted with my favorite Liquitex color right now - it's called Unbleached Titanium. I also used it on some of the circles along with another great color, Medium Magenta. So pretty! The lighter pinks in the painting are a mixture of this magenta with Soft White. Yum - this painting reminds me of Neopolitan Ice Cream! LOL

The lines were drawn with my good ol' Prismacolor pencils. Have I mentioned how I love Prismacolor pencils? I love them almost more than I love buttons.

Bingo Card Art Journal

For Pam's swap we were to make a book out of a bingo card and fill it with arted up paper. I decided to make my inside papers in Photoshop. They are just decorative, with plenty of room left for someone to art journal on them.
